This will free you up to do other things that are more productive and it doesn't cost much at all to implement.
Another reason I enjoy email more than the phone is that I can respond to inquiries when it's most convenient. When people call, they expect you to either pick up or return their call promptly. I've found that email responses of 24 hours are more than acceptable, which allows me to get back with people when it's convenient and I don't have the constant interruptions that I used to have.
