Samson is the character in the Bible story, a man who possessed supreme strength and was invincible. Here, you can know about Samson and how his wife Delilah deceived him. Once upon a time, a man named Manoah had a wife who was infertile and remained issueless. On day, an angel came and said that God has decided to give her a boy baby who would perform great things in the future. Further, it continued stating that she should stay away from wine, drink and any form of drugs and once the baby is born, she should not use razor has God want him to look unique.
Manoah's wife gave birth to a son and named him Samson which means sunshine. God was with him and God spirits were leading all his actions as he grew. Samson grew old and during his journey to the nearest town in Philistine, he came across beautiful girl. He came back home and asked his father to fix up a meeting with her as he is interested to marry her. Manoah was not pleased with the idea because Israelite men never marry Philistine woman. However, Samson persuaded Manoah to arrange for the meeting.
In the wedding ceremony, Samson asked riddle to the Philistine's servants who served him. They were unable to find the answer and they went to Samson's wife to know the solution. With great difficulty Samson's wife got the answer from Samson and told the servants. They in turn gave the answers to Samson. Samson was upset about the whole episode and went away to another Philistine town leaving his wife. After this, Samson fought with Philistines every day.
Later on, Samson met Delilah, a beautiful and pretty Philistine woman and married her. After their wedding, Philistines rulers came to Delilah and asked her to know the secrets of his supreme power and strength in order to win him easily. For this, she was offered a lot of money.
Delilah seduced Samson and asked him to reveal how he could be weakened. Samson lied to Delilah many times and all the Philistines rulers' attempts failed. Delilah got furious and forced Samson to let out the secret; finally he told that he has not used razor in his head since he has been set aside for God since his birth. Now, Delilah shaved Samson head and called the Philistines ruler to attack him. This time Samson got trapped, but he prayed God to set him free from pillars. God helped Samson to push the pillars and the whole building was destroyed. Thereafter, Israelites were set free from slavery for a long time.
