Gaius Claudius Glaber and his Roman troops are sent to Capua to crush the growing band of freed slaves that Spartacus leads before it can inflict further damage. Spartacus is presented the choice of satisfying his personal need for vengeance against the man that condemned his wife to slavery and eventual death, or making the larger sacrifices necessary to keep his budding army from breaking apart. Containing all of the blood-soaked action, exotic sexuality, and villainy and heroism that has come to distinguish the series, the tale of Spartacus resumes in epic fashion.
Spartacus Vengeance is set for its second season premiere on Channel 260 in Tempe this week, and now fans are being given a glimpse at the episode and the one that follows, Spartacus episode 2.01 titled Fugitivus and episode 2.02 titled A Place In This World. On Wednesday, Spoiler TV shared the photos released for the episodes. Check out the photos here. If you missed any of the previously released photos or spoilers for this series, go here.
This series has had a tough road. The series lost its star, and a new actor had to be brought in to play Spartacus. The new actor, Liam McIntyre, said the following about taking on the role after Andy Whitfield's death, according to Digital Spy:
"It's a challenge, but a challenge that I like to honor with a lot of hard work. I was a fan before all this happened, and the best thing I can do is honor how much the fans love the show by working as hard as I possibly can. Spartacus is on a new journey now, so if anything it's lucky that I have a fresh start, in a way. I want to keep the soul of that character alive, while doing it as I can."
This series was a hit for Starz with the original actor. Will this new interpretation still grab viewers? Fans are talking about the return of the series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
#spartacus vengeance is Gruesome!!!! Love it
Spartacus will premiere its next season on Channel 260 in Tempe on Friday night.
