The sad thing about the Rumble is usually that the winner doesn't really get to "main event" WrestleMania ever again (especially this year), but it's still one among my favorite matches and I realize I'm going to appreciate it like I do on an annual basis. Right now there are generally only four announced suits. I'd expect some form of midcard match to be added as being a buffer to many of the big ones on the card, but I'm not about to guess what they'll be.

It's that time involving year again when we hop in relation to WrestleMania and this Saturday the first stop is the Royal Rumble. I love that experts claim the Rumble takes place around the week between the NFL Conference Championship games and the Super Bowl. It gives me something to watch on the first Sunday since August without having football. The Royal Rumble can be my second favorite event with the year and usually perhaps my non-wrestling fan friends like to watch it. Let's see what this year's event has available for us.

Andrew Johnson: Initially, I want to allowed everyone and thank them for finding the time to read this complete preview. I also want to thank John and Christian for time. But, I want to especially thank Christian for stepping down from the weekly Smackdown review, because that really I've taken over people are finally starting to just like me. It only took about three years, but whatever.

Before we commence, just a quick explanation within the preview team. To end last year we had the full TJR writing staff composing these previews, but it got to be too much. We'll definitely doing columns with the complete staff, such as January's employees predictions for 2012 plus more to come, but for that previews it's a about three man team. After me, the two most senior citizen writers at TJR are generally Andrew Johnson and Christian Michael, both of whom have covered Smackdown for that site, so they are joining me to the previews. Let's roll.

Planet Title Steel Cage Go with: Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry

I think i was all expecting this match to adopt place but not within the confines of a Metallic Cage. I think it's a curious move ahead WWE's part to have the match in a ring but one that would lead you to believe that Bryan is usually retaining the Championship. Bryan has been doing great since he won the gold and begun his heel turn. The match will not be a technical masterpiece with the two big men but must have enough drama and brutality to keep it entertaining. I think the cage was applied to give Bryan any "cheap" victory. A victory where he is able to escape the cage though Henry and Show are generally knocked out or fighting the other person. I hope that right after this match Bryan can feud with someone which will match his work charge.
Predicted Winner and HOWEVER World Heavyweight Champion - Daniel Bryan

Watching this feud unfold weekly is nothing short of a delicacy. I tend to take about these guys within my weekly Smacking With WWE Smackdown report, and then for good reason. This three-way feud is fantastic. Sure we could have had to suffer via Big Show's blubbering silent celestial body face, but we've also received week after week connected with exciting main events and not using a real finish. Bryan defended his title three weeks inside a row, successfully I may well add, and never seriously won a match. That's unhappy. And while most people might say "Oh, they're booking him bad, they're making him seem like a weak champion, " you know what, no they're not. He's had matches with guys who're generally his own measurement since being champion and he's housed each. He's not a drained champion, he's just a tiny guy that has to help contend with f**king leaders. How else is he speculated to get the win? SOME SORT OF tickle contests?

The challenge isn't that he's being booked weak (because they isn't) it's that fan expectation is so conditional upon what they've seen in advance of. For the past decade we've gotten employed to seeing a guy like John Cena rise above hate along with other obstacles in his way. Cena has taken on several opponents when the odds are supposedly piled against him (Khali, Big Show, Edge on Massive Show's back, 30 goddamn members involving Nexus at once) and she has always come out number one. Shawn Michaels defeating Vader at SummerSlam, Hogan slamming Andre, Rey Mysterio busting literally anyone; we are used towards champions overcoming the odds and winning regardless of. So when we see a tiny guy going against your bigger opponent, our reaction is usually "Cena wins, yawn" besides "Holy shit he's about to die" like it must be.

In reality Bryan has been doing what everyone should always be doing when they're up against tanks; trying to win the match by virtually any means necessary. This doesn't really create him a Lex Luthor form evil villain rubbing his / her hands together and building a suit out of kryptonite. He's essentially more like Darth Vader; a guy who is convinced so hard that he's doing the proper thing that he's prepared orchestrate devious acts and personally sacrifice the one thing that he truly appreciates just to satisfy her needs.

In fact, nobody during this match is inherently wicked, at least in the particular Vince McMahon beating " up " his own daughter method. They all have a legitimate basis for their actions. Big Show is insane because he was shamed by way of a guy literally ? his / her size, and his title reign was a joke. Mark Henry is pissed since he's big and sturdy and wearing angry dark man boots, he's been flourished the top of the mountain faster then they thought, and now somebody else has the prize he's spent the higher quality part of 10 ages chasing. Daniel Bryan genuinely believes he's one of the best wrestler of the bunch and he's willing to attend any lengths to keep the one thing that validates that belief. It's not good opposed to evil versus kind great but acting evil. It's just good story telling. They're all of us with axes to mill, just like all people. It's the kind of story telling we should be expecting instead of the particular easy overcoming the probability bullshit we've seen your million times. So the addition of a steel cage with two big warthogs wanting to keep the other from winning as the little guy is trying to sneak out of your cage for another win isn't played, it makes sense. I'm looking forward to the current.
